Photography Series 

For this project i was very much inspired by the artist Shadi Ghadirian. Her work mainly focuses on Female identity and the stereotypes others have on women. The specific series of hers that inspired my photography response was her Untitled (Qajar series) which she produced in 1998. Within her series, she applies modern elements to traditional Iranian scenes. Thus, for my series i chose to focus on my own culture, with the aim of shining light on Palestinian women who are overlooked and stereotyped due to history and the way they are portrayed in the media. I also chose to add modern elements that were not just typical of a women but elements that apply to both genders.
